Fall Family Picnic is Cancelled

With deep regret, we must announce that the Annual Fall Family Picnic is cancelled. Due to only eight families registering by the deadline and a lack of volunteers to help set up, run activities, assist with food, and clean up afterward, we are sadly not able to hold this traditional event.

The PTO is discussing the possibility of a new event in the winter with hopes of a better turnout, so keep your eyes peeled for any forthcoming announcements. Families who did register and pay in advance for the picnic can let us know if they prefer we refund their money or hold on to it for a future event.

We are so disappointed, but without enough people attending or volunteers helping out, the PTO cannot manage hosting events. We ask everyone to realize how important it is for families to register for events by the posted deadlines; we cannot plan when people wait until the last minute to RSVP.

If there are preferred activities that anyone would like to suggest, we welcome your input! We want to provide events that entice and excite you to attend and get involved.

As the Seasons Change

Cool, crisp mornings; early sunsets; darkness by dinnertime—the fall weather is making its presence known more and more each day! We're enjoying apple and pumpkin picking at all the great Jersey farms, and getting out our heavier jackets and sweaters. (Though this week's newsletter was starting to be written yesterday, this morning we can see we'll have a week of "Second Summer" that will bring us warmer weather before the eventual cooling and full swing into Autumn.) So whatever the weather from one day to the next this week, please read on for announcements about upcoming events—including more Upper School Socials and the fall Scholastic Book Fair.

CPS (Community Personnel Services) Director, Mary Griggs, will provide information for parents on what happens to your child after ECLC. This is open to parents of all ages, as it is an important process to start navigating at any age.

Book Fair in November

The Book Fair will run November 11-15. A great time to start thinking about holiday gifting!

We restored the link to join the PTO on Membership Toolkit. If you tried before to join up and pay this year's dues and couldn't, you can now get in and take care of it.

To join, go to "My Account" in Membership Toolkit and select "Sales & Volunteer Forms." Down in the "Store & Data (Information) Forms" section, select "Family Membership: 2024-2025" (see image below) to get to the registration page.
